If it's set to DVD5 in the preferences, you don't have to move any slider. Just leave it on automatic and it will adjust the compression on its own to get to (but not beyond) the target size.

Tried that didn't work... even on 100% could not get the movie below 6 Gig's.
100% means no compression, you want to move the slider the other way (low %, high compression, low size).
